Riders Voice - by Brodie Humphries

I set out to bring Theorc.com readers a little closer to the stars of the 2010 WORCS series with the new “Riders Voice” edit feature that is literally first hand from the riders who dominate the WORCS series. I sat them down, gave then a note pad, and asked them to share a little insight into their lives prior to the first gate drop of the 2010 calendar at Speedworld in Surprise, Arizona.

Be sure to stay tuned as I will continue to get the lowdown from the heavies as the year unfolds here on Theorc.com.

Justin Soule- “2010 is going to be a great season. I am on a new team, Monster Energy Kawasaki, the bike is fast and everyone on the team is great. My expectations for the 2010 season are to get the championship with consistency and speed. For the past couple months I have been at home here in Reno, NV working with my trainer Robber Altizer I the gym. We feel strong and ready as we’ll ever be.”

Taylor Robert- “I have been training a ton to get ready for this first round of WORCS out at Speedworld and have been doing a lot with my trainer Steve Hatch and he has been helping me out more than you can imagine. My speed has gotten a lot better since last year and I am loving my 2010 YZ450f. I am ready to go out there and win this first not only for myself, but for Yamaha and my new Valli Motorsports team.

Cole Martinez- I just got back from California training with Chris Brennen and came out to do the first WORCS race. I rode the 450A class and won the moto. I had crashed and came back from 15 seconds. I am getting ready for the March nationals and I am hoping it all goes well.

Timmy Weigand- Well, for the last month or so I have been working my butt off getting ready for round 1 of WORCS. We have been doing some testing to get the Honda CRF450R, which is a little better for off-road. My bike is great! We have also picked up a few new sponsors for the new year; Affliction clothing and Lucas Oils are on board now. Other than that there hasn’t been much of a down for me. Just training, riding and getting ready for our second son Tallon. Life of an off-roader…

Nick Brozovich- My set up is almost exactly the same thing this year. Same people on the team and almost all the same sponsors, so it’s good. Preparation for the year was going well until about 3 weeks ago I had a big crash while training. So now I’m just trying to get back to being healthy and score as many points as I can while recovering. Thanks to everyone who is helping me out this year.

Brenden Ritzman- Well for 2010 I’m riding for the same team; RPM/KTM racing. With a lot of KTM backing. I’ve been getting ready for this year and was a little weird when I came and did the warm up race on Jan 1 because I ended up sliding out and tearing my MCL. So it was a little shaky as to whether or not I was going to be ready to race. So I took three weeks off from riding and did a lot of physical therapy. Basically started riding a week and a half ago and raced the Hare and Hound ending up 6th. And now we’re here in Phoenix, AZ hoping to get a top 5 and get some good points to start off the year!

Bobby Bonds- This year I was kind of left out when it came to being on a team So, I’m pretty much on my own this year, I got some good sponsors behind me and I plan on getting my #1 plate back. I trained my ass off the last 3 months and got my weight to a career low and plan on winning some races. I want to leave Phoenix on the box and stay healthy.

Mike Brown- To prepare for 2010 I just did some racing in Europe SX and that is about it. Just the usual thing I just keep training all year really, I don’t stop too much and I got the arm pump surgery and it feels a little better than before. So I hope it doesn’t get as bad as last year (arm pump). I just want to stay consistent; maybe some more wins will help but just to stay in top 5 every race.
