Corey Dry Blog- Rollercoaster Season

Written by The Off Road Corner

Whats up guys!
So as the year just finished up, you could sum up my season in one word...rollercoaster. It was the first full season doing WORCS and my first season riding the expert class and it was definitely a learning curve of a season. The year started out not the way I wanted, in Phoenix I ended up crashing and separating my shoulder so that ended up my weekend real fast and didn't get to race Pro 2. The second round ended up like the first, just with crashes or bike problems so at that point I knew I was in for a long season!

Finally i got a break at round 3 in Lake Havasu where I ended up 3rd in 250f A and was running strong in Open A in I think 4th, when with about 20 minutes to go, my clutch decided to stop working on me. I thought for sure that I was going to be able to race Pro 2 but that didn't happen. After that race, things started to go a little bit better for me for the next few races. I think I was running in the top 5 or so in the next fews races but something always seem to happen, either I would crash or something would happen to my bike.. mainly flat tires!! Then PJ from Valcom Motorsports told me I need to start running bibs and my tire issue would be solved. He was right and I since I have been running them instead of tubes I have had no flat tires!! I knew coming into the last round in Mesquite that it was going to be gnarly sand whoops the entire time because I raced that race last year. I was pumped coming into that race because all I ride back home is sand whoops so it is definitely one of my strong points. I was nowhere near in contention for any sort of overall in the points so I just went to have a good time and that turned out to be one of my best races of the season for sure! I finally got the chance to race Pro 2 for the first time so I just went out and tried to get as much experience racing pro 2 as i could because next year I am hopefully going to be able race a lot more of them! Although my clutch once again fried about half way into the moto I was able to get a good judging of where I was and where I need to be for next year.

My plan for next year is to just have fun and be consistent because it is not always the fastest rider that wins but the most consistent. I want to thank a bunch of people for sticking with me and helping throughout the year, My mom and dad, Team Green, Valcom Motorsports, Topar Racing, Fly, Bell Helmets and everyone else that has stuck with me this year, thanks. O and to the Schaffer Mom for the pre-race talks and telling me to JUST FINISH  thanks!!

Thanks for reading and see you guys in Janurary!
